Military Response

John "reporting for duty" Kerry once fought in Viet-Nam where he was a naval officer who was not liked by all his fellow officers and who was awarded two purple hearts which other veterans did not think he deserved. When he ran for president two years ago , his controversial military career became a major focus of the campaign.

Kerry seems to think, that having once worn a uniform in service to his country, gives him carte blanche to criticize the military. He has done so with impunity since he returned from Viet Nam. He has referred to the military men in women in uniform as murderers, rapists, torturers and more. His latest insult is directed at the intelligence and education levels of those who enlist to serve their country:

"You know education, if you make the most of it, and you study hard, and you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."
