The Assembly to Promote Civil Society in Cuba, a Cuban dissident group headed by Martha Beatriz Roque, called on all international democratic governments and institutionsnot to cooperate with the Cuban dictatorship.
World democratic governments and institutions should not cooperate with a dictatorship that has oppressed its citizens for over 47 years as highlighted in a letter from Martha Beatriz Roque, addressed to the Heads of Sates and Governments that will attend the Sixteenth Ibero-American summit which begins in Motevideo, Uruguay today.
The letter, made public Wednesday in Havana, denounces the non-compliance of the accords entered into by the communist Cuban regime in previous Ibero-American summits and other international forums, like the Non-Aligned Movement or the United Nation’s Human Rights Commission.
Along with the letter, Roque attaches a document which denounces the Cuban citizens’ lack of rights like multi-party pluralistic elections, private property, freedom of expression, freedom of movement, freedom to organize labor unions and freedom of religion.
